Is burning sage effective in keeping evil spirits out? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! In fact, all you are doing when you burn sage is inviting others in.  This is an occultic practice that opens a door or portal for the enemy to enter your life.  Other examples are dream catchers, salt lamps, pyramids and there are other talismans that invite the demonic to your life. You may as well be wearing a sign that says "Come on in and afflict me."
